Christina Aguilera and Jordan Bratman
| |
Singer Christina Aguilera, 24, marries music executive Jordan Bratman, 28 on Saturday November 19, 2005. The couple has been together for three years, and Bratman had proposed to Aguilera in February while on vacation in Carmel, California. Guests arrived on Thursday for the 3 day extravaganza of parties and celebrations. The Japanese themed rehearsal dinner was held Friday night at the Auberge Du Soleil resort, one of Northern California’s most revered dining establishments. The wedding had a Spanish theme, and it was held at the Staglin Family Vineyard in California's Napa Valley. 120 guests attended, including celebrities such as Sharon Stone, Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore. The setup inside was quite extravagant as the ceremony was held inside a stained-glass Castilian castle built on top of a swimming pool and filled with pews. Other details include a chandelier crafted from 2,500 crystals to a five-tier chocolate cake topped by hundreds of sugar flowers.

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
| |
Lopez married singer Marc Anthony in a secret wedding on June 5, 2004, less than a week after his divorce was finalized from former Miss Universe Dayanara Torres. The guests were invited to an "afternoon party" without knowing that they were going to a wedding. Years before they married (or even became a couple), she and Marc Anthony sang a song together called No Me Ames which appeared on her album On The 6. Immediately, rumors began that the ceremony was a "shotgun" and that Lopez was pregnant. Lopez had said in the past that, as a practicing Catholic, she would never have a baby without being married. Complicating the situation is Anthony's refusal to confirm his marriage to Lopez and the fact that his divorce took place in the Dominican Republic less than a week before his reported marriage to Lopez, making it potentially invalid in the United States. The couple has since confirmed their marriage, although Lopez refuses to discuss it.

Avraam Russo and Morella Ferdman
| |
This wedding was covered in many different newspapers and magazines, and not just in Russia. Avraam is one of the most popular singers today, and the wedding was attended by stars like Cristina Orbakaite (who sang several songs together with Avraam) and showman Valdis Pelsh. The wedding itself was a magnificent show - the bride wore a stunning dress adorned by 10,000 Swarovski crystals and New York based musicians Douglas & Eddy traveled across the ocean just to play for this wedding. Avraam lives in Moscow, but he was born in Syria and has lived in many countries - from France to Cypress. Morella grew up in New York (her family immigrated to the U.S. from the former Soviet Union). She has worked as an administrator for many famous artists and now is going to work alongside her husband. Avraam and Morella gave Russian Bride magazine an exclusive interview. RB: Where are you planning to live after the wedding? Avraam: We are planning to live in two cities: Moscow and New York. New York is a beautiful city, but it is not my native city. Right now I can't just think about where I would want to live - now it is important where we want to live. That is why now we have an apartment in New York and an apartment in Moscow, so we will spend time here and there.

Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z will apparently marry in a lush $US3 million ceremony in late November. The wedding will apparently take place on the Caribbean island of Anguilla and one tenth of the massive cost will be spent on $US300,000 worth of Beluga caviar alone. Beyonce plans to feast on lobster. A source says: “Beyonce has been telling friends it will be ‘the wedding to end all weddings’. “She feels like she’s living a fairy tale so why shouldn’t her wedding be equally magical?”

Anguilla
Kate Winslet's surprise 2003 wedding to Oscar-winning American Beauty director Sam Mendes took place in exclusive Anguilla, in the West Indies archipelago off southernmost Florida. While details of the wedding continue to be under wraps, the beachside nuptials are understood to have taken place at Barnes Bay on the southwestern tip of the island. The couple is believed to have rented one of the spectacular beachfront Temenos villas – the name of the trio of secluded coastal mansions, which each start at around £22,000-a-week, means "sanctuary" in Greek. Here the pair combined a no-fuss wedding and a romantic getaway. The sparkling white villas each feature a meditation area, outside dining pavilion and marble-framed "infinity pool”.

Caroline Corr

Majorca, Spain
A rustic mountain-top church ceremony followed by a star-studded reception at a luxury hotel – those were the key ingredients for Corrs drummer Caroline Corr's dream wedding to Dublin property tycoon Frank Woods on the Spanish island of Majorca. The backdrop was Deia, a small village on the western shore on the Mediterranean isle. With a population of about 842, the municipality, connected to the island's capital, Palma, by a winding road, has a number of ancient churches and monasteries among its many attractions. And it was in one of the town's beautiful hillside churches – lit only by candles after a sudden rainstorm caused a power failure – that Caroline and Frank's Roman Catholic service was held, attended by a small group of family and friends.

The sparkling coastline of Barbados, a Caribbean island northeast of Venezuela, was the setting for actress Liv Tyler's March 2003 nuptials with Spacehog star Royston Langdon. Engaged on Valentine's Day 2001, the couple made sure there was plenty of romance at their candlelit wedding, held at a private beach house. Witnessed by only a few of the groom's family members, the service was "a mix of religious and civil ceremony" according to Royston's father Chester, who was among the handful of guests. "The bride looked beautiful, stunning," he continued, "but that's Liv all the time."

Meeting on the set of a horror movie might be enough to scare some couples away from the altar, but that’s not the case with one couple who announced their engagement in April 2007 and were married just one month later. Actress Jordana Brewster, who’s probably most well-known for playing Mia in The Fast and the Furious and for being named one of the sexiest women alive by Maxim in 2005, met her new husband, Andrew Form, on the set of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – The Beginning in 2005. Andrew was one of the film’s producers.
